To ensure the optimal condition of your pool, it is essential to carefully consider your maintenance plan, budget, and schedule.

    Weekly Maintenance

It’s crucial to quickly perform regular maintenance when your pool is being used during the summer. Make sure to do the following each week:

Remove leaves, bugs, and other debris from the pool surface. Skimming the pool can remove debris that the filter may have missed or prevent the filter from wearing out.

Vacuum the pool to remove dirt and grit. A pool vacuum will help keep your pool clean and clear.

Brush the sides and bottom of your pool regularly to reduce algae and maintain cleanliness.

    Opening Your Pool

It’s time to get your pool ready for summer! Ensure you prepare your pool before starting to swim.

    Take care of the following:

    • Remove all debris from the cover. If you’re using a cover to keep out debris during the summer or want to assess its condition for next winter, check for wear.
    • Remove and store the cover.
    • If you plan to open the pool by yourself, check your pool chemicals. Before opening your pool for the season, you may need to test the water, use shock treatment, and apply algicide.
    • Check the pool for any damages, cracks, or signs of wear. Address any significant issues before opening the pool for the new season.
    • Clean the pool by scrubbing and removing any algae or stains. If necessary, remove debris from the swimming pool.
    • Switch on the filter and let it run for 12 hours or more before adding any chemicals.
    • Test the water and add chemicals if necessary.
    • Include any equipment or accessories you stored over the winter, such as lights, pumps, slides, and other items.
